This notice describes how the QSBS Expert Network collects, uses, protects and retains applicant and Expert information.
Who is responsible
Quicksteps Business Solutions Inc. operates the QSBS Expert Network. Privacy questions and access or correction requests may be directed to the Privacy Officer at info@qsbs.ca.
Why information is collected
QSBS collects information reasonably required to assess applications, verify professional experience, conduct compliance review, administer onboarding and Expert accounts, match appropriate opportunities, manage engagements, maintain compliance records, process payments and meet legal obligations.
Information handled
Records may include contact details, professional history, expertise, industries, geographic experience, languages, employment and affiliations, availability, compliance responses, training and assessment records, agreements, documents, opportunities and payment status. QSBS does not operate a public Expert directory.
AI-assisted review
If AI-assisted validation is introduced, applicants will receive a clear notice before their information is processed. QSBS will document the purpose and service provider, limit the information used, apply privacy and security safeguards, and retain human review and final decision authority.
Use and disclosure
Information is used only for stated and reasonably appropriate Expert Network purposes. Access is limited by role. Information may be handled by contracted service providers under appropriate confidentiality and privacy obligations. QSBS will not sell applicant or Expert information.
Retention and deletion
Information used to make a decision affecting an individual is retained for at least one year after the decision. Records are then retained only while reasonably required for the stated purpose or for legal and business requirements, after which they are securely destroyed or de-identified.
Safeguards and individual rights
QSBS applies reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. Individuals may request access to their personal information, ask for corrections, or withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Electronic communications
Application, account, compliance, security and engagement messages are operational communications. Any optional promotional email program will use a separate consent control and an unsubscribe mechanism.
